Jessica Shehan, DNP

Jessica Shehan is a Family Nurse Practitioner at HealthStar Rheumatology in Jefferson City, TN. Originally from Knoxville, Jessica brings a strong clinical background, with experience in nephrology and critical care before transitioning to rheumatology. Her clinical interests include Sjögren’s syndrome, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Jessica earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification at Western Kentucky University in 2021. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Western Kentucky University (2017) and an Associate of Science in Nursing (RN) from Lincoln Memorial University (2014). She has been board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) since 2021.

Jessica’s philosophy of care focuses on the individuality of each patient, advocating for their needs and providing care grounded in evidence-based practices. Inspired by her grandfather's battle with ALS, Jessica has dedicated her career to compassionate healthcare and caregiving.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys crafting, hiking, and spending time outdoors. She shares her life with her husband, their beloved dogs, and a flock of chickens. Although her current practice is centered on rheumatology, Jessica is also licensed to treat pediatric patients, bringing a versatile approach to her profession.
